58 I-Verbs (3rd Conjugation)

 

“What a beautiful space, no? What do you say we meet a new family of verbs while we wait? Today I’m going to introduce you to I-Verbs. First, copy these into your notebook, and dīc clārā voce, say them with your voice aloud.” And I did.

cēdō, cēd-ere, cess-īto yield “Often combined with a dative to mean ‘to yield

to’ the dative word.”

discēdō, discēd-ere, discess-īto depart

dīcō, dīc-ere, dīx-īto say, call

ferō, fer-re, tul-īto carry, bear; to report

adferō, adfer-re, attul-īto bring to

petō, pet-ere, peti-īto seek, to aim for

 

pōnō, pōn-ere, posu-īto put, lay (something) down

quaerō, quaer-ere, quaesi-īto search for, ask relinquō, relinqu-ere, relīqu-īto leave behind vertō, vert-ere, vert-īto turn animadvertō, animadvert-ere,to pay attention
