Louise Erdrich “That Pull from the Left”
Louise Erdrich is a contemporary U.S. writer. She writes across a wide range of genres, including poetry, novels, fiction, non-fiction, and children’s books. “That Pull from the Left” was first published in 2003 in her poetry collection Original Fire. As a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians, much of her work explores Native American life. She also owns a bookstore.
