26 Final Project/Deep Dive

Depending on what other courses they are taking, LEH 250 may be the only research paper/project that students write in the fall semester. Having a paper does not make LEH 250 a writing intensive course, but one thing students should know is that all courses will have some kind of writing.  In the spring, most students will learn more about writing a research paper in ENG 111. We intentionally call this a deep dive to give you (and the students) a great deal of flexibility in what the deep dive consists of and how you implement it.

Note; You may have a section that is paired with an ESL class or with ENG-121. This can definitely have an impact on how you do the deep dive. One suggestion is to discuss with the English instructor.

The deep dive is designed to take students into the actual process of exploring a topic in depth and communicating what they learn to others.  Thinking back to the characteristics of a Lehman graduate and the overall learning outcomes for general education, these are important skills.
