We have integrated the ebook into Brightspace
You can do what you want with it but this chapter explains the basic structure.
Here are some illustrations of the Brightspace home. As you will notice, there is a common menu across the top, not all the elements of which will show to students. Any greeting will create willl show in the announcements (on the right). The visual table of contents displays all modules that you have not excluded in the settings. Only modules that are available to students will be shown to students. Other items will only be shown to instructors. This is like published and not published items in Blackboard. Optionally, when you have finished a module you can make it unavailable by selecting “Hide from users” in the drop down menu.
Thie image shows the three modules representing the three pillars.
The table of contents view as accessed from the horizontal menu.
The outermost (top) level represents the modules.
The lower levels are submodules are revealed by clcking on the module links
“Becoming a College Student” contains the materials related to the 10 Things book. Open each of the links in this folder and you will find a link to the book, any related materials, potential assignments and some information for you as the faculty member for this course.
“Becoming a College Scholar” is focused on reading, writing and academic integrity for college. Ideally these are integrated with your disciplinary content.
“Practicing you Scholarly Skills” Is, essentially, where you put the disciplinary content. The idea is that the students will have an experience learning about a topic and use that to engage in the kind of work they are expected to do in college.
