A business plan is a detailed document that describes what a company wants to achieve, how it plans to do it, and when it hopes to reach those goals. It is like a guide for running the business and is really important for new companies and those that have been around for a while to help make decisions and get funding from investors or banks.

Creating a Business Plan can help you

  1. Develop Critical Thinking and Planning Skills: Creating a business plan helps you organize your ideas and use both your creativity and analytical thinking to achieve real results. It is not just a task for school; it also gives you the ability to build something from scratch.   1. Mission statement – a brief description of the business values, goals, and culture.
  2. Explain the type of business you would like to start.
  3. Focus on what you know about this type of business.
  4. Why did you decided to start this type of business?
  5. Demonstrate what you have done through the market analysis.

MARKET ANALYSIS

  1. Brief description of the business industry you have chosen.
  2. Provide information on the target market.
    1. Who will be your customers?
    2. What is your price for the products or services?
    3. Who is your competitor? – Competitive analysis.

PRODUCTS / SERVICES

  1. Provide a description and detail of the products or services you are going to sell.

MARKET & SALES

  1. What is the market strategy?
  2. What will be your business process?
  3. What make your business unique from your competition?
  4. How are you going to sell your products or services?

FINANCIAL PROJECTION

  1. Provide a financial projection on what it will cost to start your business.
  2. How much money is needed to get the business started? – (getting off the ground and in operating stage).
