Freshman Year (0-29.9 credits): Explore and Discover

During the freshman year, the focus is on exploration and discovery. This is the time for students to get familiar with their academic environment, explore different areas of study, and discover their interests and strengths.

Specifically, in this stage you will

  1. Register with the Career Center.
  2. Complete a career assessment to identify interest, skills, personality, and values.
  3. Explore different career options related to student’s major.
  4. Participate in Community Service activities
  5. Create a professional résumé and cover letter.
  6. Attend professional workshops.
  7. Setup handshake account (Medgar Evers College).
  8. Create Simplicity account (Medgar Evers College).
