Pell is a Federal program awarded to all applicants who meet certain eligibility criteria. In addition to the criteria required for SEEK, students must also:
1. sign a statement of educational purpose certification statements pertaining to refund, default, and drug corruption
2. be registered for selective service (males only)
Pell awards are pro-rated based on enrollment status. For example, recipients completing 12 or more semester/equated credits will receive a full semester’s award; those completing 9-11.5 equated credits will receive 75% of the semester’s award; students completing 6-8.5 equated credits will receive 50% of the semester’s award; and those who complete .5-5.5 equated credits will receive 25% of the semester award. Students must keep in mind that the SEEK Program is for full-time students (12 credits). However, students are allowed to attend part-time for one semester with approval from the Program Director. Hence, a pro-rated PELL grant is applicable to SEEK students for one semester only.
