Music of the Baroque Period
Objectives
- Demonstrate knowledge of historical and cultural contexts of the Baroque Period.
- Recognize musical performing forces (voices, instruments, and ensembles), styles, composers, and genres of the Baroque.
- Explain ways in which music and extra-musical influences interact in music of the Baroque Period.
- Aurally identify selected music of the Baroque, making critical judgments about its style and use.
