Case Study: Choosing a Career Field

Tameaka Hanes is having a hard time choosing a career field. She finds the process challenging and difficult. Tameaka is unsure about her career interests and skills. She is a recent college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and thought a degree in business would open doors to many employment opportunities. Yet, after completing her degree, Tameaka was overwhelmed by the vast number of career options and uncertain about her future career path. Tameaka feels unsure about which career field to pursue. Her sense of dissatisfaction grew as she applied for jobs in sales, marketing, and finance but none of them seemed as if the positions would be satisfying. Tameka does not want to commit herself to a specific field and be frustrated and unsatisfied after a few years.
