4 Evidence of your deep dive
Workbook
This workbook provides a place to keep track of the sources, ideas, and notes from each of your readings. As you work, add in the details that the workbook asks for. The workbook is asking for the minimum, which is the requirement for a passing grade. Adding more detail that supports your work is a good idea. That is what gets you a grade better than just passing. A copy of the workbook is in the appendix to this book and also in Blackboard.
Annotated bibliography
Annotations are notes, and bibliographies are formal lists of sources. An annotated bibliography is a specific form of source list containing notes on each source. For this deep dive, you will format the sources you use in your work into an annotated bibliography to show the sources you used, describe what they are, and why and how you used them.
You can learn more about annotated bibliographies from these links:
- The Annotated Bibliography module on the Excelsior College OWL site (includes a sample Annotated Bibliography in APA 7 format, a page of tips on writing an Annotated Bib, and a quiz on research and documentation): https://owl.excelsior.edu/research/annotated-bibliographies/
- UNC Chapel Hill Writing Center – Annotated Bibliography handout https://writingcenter.unc.edu/tips-and-tools/annotated-bibliographies/

For help with your annotated bibliography, set up a time with the writing center as shown below.
