LaGuardia Resources

Is there financial support available?

  • The Foundation Scholarship: Every Fall and Spring semester, generous donors fund the Foundation Scholarship, specifically to support eligible students like you. These scholarships are awarded based on financial need and/or academic performance, and each year, the Foundation gives away over $2 million to deserving students.
  • Merit-based Scholarships: These recognize your hard work, talent, and commitment to your studies. If you excel in your classes, these scholarships could be for you!
  • The New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP): If you are a New York resident studying at an approved school in the state, TAP is here to help. It’s a grant, which means you don’t have to pay it back, and the annual TAP award can be as much as $5,665.

These financial support options are here to help you focus more on your studies and less on your bills. It’s worth taking the time to explore what’s available to you and to apply for the programs that match your situation. The Financial Aid Office can provide personalized guidance and help you understand the full range of options, including work-study opportunities, payment plans, and more.

What benefits are available to me as a CUNY student?

  • Wall Street Journal and the New York Times: Stay informed about what’s happening in New York, the USA, and the world without having to pay. With your LaGuardia email, you can enjoy free access to these renowned newspapers. Visit the LAGCC library website to find out how to start reading today.
  • Microsoft Office 365: Wondering how to get tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and more for free? CUNY provides all students with free Office 365 access. Just log in with your CUNYfirst credentials, and you’ll have both online and offline access.
  • Zoom Premium Accounts: Need to host a meeting without worrying about time limits or the number of participants? CUNY offers free premium Zoom accounts for all students. This means unlimited time for meetings, whether for study groups, projects, or just catching up with peers.
  • Museums (Mets, Natural history, Museum of Moving Image etc): CUNY students have free or discount tickets for museums {necessary to show your CUNY Student ID}, read the article to see which Museums offer free or discounted tickets to CUNY students.

What support is available for International Students?
