Wole Soyinka: “The Child Before a Mirror of Strangers”

Yoruba poet Professor Wole Soyinka was the first sub-Saharan African to win the Nobel Prize in Literature (1986). He wrote the poem “The Child Before a Mirror of Strangers” (2019) in order to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. He dedicated the poem to all children of the world and future generations.
