About the Author

Rachael Nevins is currently a student in the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies at Queens College and has worked on open educational resources with CUNY’s Office of Library Services and at the Borough of Manhattan Community College. She has more than two decades of experience designing, writing, and editing both print and online educational materials for students in K–12 and beyond. On and off through the years since 2004, she has maintained a blog, for which she has done many searches for openly licensed and public domain images; The Variegated Life is now available via Substack.
