Evaluating OER

The goal of this Part is to provide resources to evaluate OER – resources that are free and accessible for all students.

The general criteria below serves as a general framework for the evaluation and selection process. This list of criteria is suitable for any type of OER. Take it into account, not all criteria will apply in every case and one or more of these criteria may be more important or have greater priority.

General Criteria for evaluating OER

  • Clarity, Comprehensibility, and Readability.
  • Content Accuracy and Technical Accuracy.
  • Adaptability and Modularity.
  • Appropriateness
  • Accessibility.
  • Supplementary Resources.
