The current version of the textbook was written, remixed and edited by Jill Grose-Fifer, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology at John Jay College, CUNY, in 2023. It is a work in progress. This book was adapted from a clone of the  2019 BCcampus Open Education’s clone of the first edition of OpenStax’s Psychology into Pressbooks.

In chapters 1-8 much of the content has been rewritten or replaced to reflect a more critical approach to the discipline of psychology, but these do not have interactive activities yet.  At present, chapters 9 through 15 are in their original format so they represent a more traditional view of psychology (but have interactive activities). This edited work has been sponsored by John Jay College and was inspired by many people, including the students of John Jay College and CUNY more broadly. However, I particularly want to acknowledge the role of Dr. Della Mosely and Pearis Bellamy, founders of Academics for Black Survival and Wellness, as major forces for the impetus for the edits to this book.
