Module 10: Inference for Means

Introduction to Estimating a Population Mean

Introduction to Estimating a Population Mean

What you’ll learn to do: Construct and interpret a confidence interval to estimate a population mean when conditions are met.

SAT vs ACT preference of seniors by state. SAT is blue and ACT is red.In this section we will learn to construct a confidence interval to estimate a population mean when conditions are met and interpret the confidence interval in context. We will then interpret the meaning of a confidence level associated with a confidence interval. This can be used with analyzing SAT scores and how they vary from state to state. We will also learn to adjust the margin of error by making changes to the confidence level or sample size.
